Jacob Jordan

Prospective Pastor

Jacob was born in Abilene, Texas, but was raised in Porterville, California. He grew up as the homeschooled son of a police officer and was blessed to have a family that loves Christ and has always been active in church work. He accepted Christ at a young age and grew into a joy-filled faith in his teenage years. After marrying and moving around a few times in his early twenties, Jacob and his family settled in Bakersfield, California and began attending Crossway Baptist Church. While serving in the church in some capacity had always been his plan, pastoral ministry was not an office Jacob intended to pursue until opportunity and encouragement from Crossway’s pastors revealed how God could be guiding him into that role.

Jacob earned his master’s degree from Purdue University in Communication and works in IT while also teaching as an adjunct instructor at Bakersfield College. This combination fits with his analytical personality coupled with a love of making complicated things clear through thoughtful communication. Seeing God’s beautiful story of holiness and forgiveness in the Scripture drives Jacob to desire to understand Him more and bring others along in knowing our savior.

Jacob and his wife Emma have been in love since high school and have three daughters: Penelope, Daphne, and Juniper. He loves brewing and roasting coffee, is always ready for a board game, and enjoys a good story in any format.
