Until a plurality of elders is in place at Christ Fellowship, the elders from Crossway Baptist (our sending church) will function as provisional support and an advisory board. While they will not hold any official office within Christ Fellowship Church, they will provide a layer of encouragement, accountability and counsel as the church plant grows to greater self-sustainability.

Caleb Lawson – Lead Pastor

Caleb was born in Merced, CA but spent most of his life growing up in the small town of Yreka, CA. He was blessed to be born into a family that loved the Lord and His Word. He was raised by parents who had deep convictions about church, the Scriptures, and the family, yet it wasn’t until college that the Lord truly began to establish those convictions in his own heart.

Caleb attended The Master’s University with the intent of becoming a US history teacher. However, through the Bible classes he took his freshman year, the Lord had other plans in mind. The Bible came alive has he saw the interconnected beauty of Scripture as it all pointed to the glory of God. He switched his major to Biblical Studies and graduated with his Bachelor’s degree in 2019. The summer before this, he went to Crossway Baptist Church in Bakersfield, CA as an intern and fostered a love for God’s people: the church. While at Crossway, he completed his MDiv through The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary while working for a law firm. Currently, he is slowly working on his ThM through Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary.

Caleb met his wife Natalie at TMU and they have been married since 2019. They are blessed with their 4 children: Ruth, Clara, Owen, and Lucy. Caleb enjoys reading history & theology, is a film enthusiast, has an eclectic taste in music, and loves spending time with friends and family.
